About Us:
We are a fast-growing AI startup based in Germany, building a compliance-first AI voice agent tailored for regulated industries (healthcare, finance, public sector). Our solution is already ISO 27001, GDPR, and EU AI Act compliant, hosted on local servers, and trusted by German SMEs and enterprises.

Responsibility:
As CTO, you’ll own the end-to-end technical strategy, from optimizing our current product platform to architecting and building our proprietary AI voice technology. You’ll ensure compliance, scalability, and innovation while leading a growing engineering team. This role is perfect for a hands-on leader who thrives in early-stage environments and wants to shape the future of ethical AI in Europe.

1. Technical Leadership & Strategy
   - Lead the transition from our AI voice agent to a fully proprietary, cutting-edge platform.
   - Define the technical roadmap, prioritizing compliance (GDPR, ISO 27001, EU AI Act), scalability, and differentiation (e.g., multilingual support, industry-specific NLP).
   - Evaluate build-vs-buy decisions for critical components (ASR, TTS, analytics).
2. Compliance & Security
   - Ensure all systems meet German/EU data sovereignty and regulatory requirements.
   - Oversee audits, certifications, and penetration testing.
   - Implement robust data anonymization and encryption protocols.
3. Team Building
   - Recruit and mentor a high-performing engineering team (backend, AI/ML, DevOps).
   - Foster a culture of innovation, agility, and compliance-first thinking.
4. Product Development
   - Collaborate with the CEO/CBO to align technical priorities with customer needs (e.g., healthcare integrations, fraud detection).
   - Customize the current white-label solution for niche use cases while building proprietary IP.
   - Optimize for low-latency performance and multilingual accuracy (German dialects + EU languages).
5. Investor & Partner Relations
   - Represent the company in technical due diligence with investors.
   - Negotiate partnerships with cloud providers (AWS, Azure), compliance auditors, and AI vendors.

Qualifications
Must-Have
- 10+ years in software engineering, with 5+ years in AI/ML, cloud infrastructure, or voice technologies
- Proven experience scaling compliance-heavy tech products (GDPR, ISO 27001, HIPAA, etc.)
- Expertise in modern AI stacks: NLP/LLMs (e.g., Whisper, Transformer models), Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), Voice technologies (ASR, TTS, conversational AI)
- Fluency in Python, Java, or C++, and frameworks like TensorFlow/PyTorch
- Strong track record of building and leading engineering teams in startups or regulated industries
- Business fluency in English (German is a plus)

Nice-to-Have
- Experience with on-premise/edge deployments for data-sensitive industries
- Prior work in healthcare, finance, or public sector tech
- Knowledge of SAP/Microsoft Teams integrations (common in German enterprises)
