The Research Training Group 3068, Climate-Informed Engineering, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), is dedicated to interdisciplinary research on climate-informed sustainable resource management and environmental engineering. As part of this Research Training Group, we offer dedicated researchers the opportunity to pursue a doctorate in an outstanding research environment at Hamburg University of Technology, in collaboration with the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology and the United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment, and Health (UNU-INWEH). The RTG aims to increase the percentage of women in science and particularly encourages women to apply. Due to their underrepresentation, women will be given priority in cases of equal suitability, qualifications, and professional performance.
The position is supervised by the Institute of Solids Process Engineering and Particle Technology (SPE). The research focuses on investigating the impact of raw material properties of lignin, influenced by climate variations, on the spray drying process. The goal is to develop a model correlating raw material properties, climate data, and process parameters, using lab- and pilot-scale spray dryers.
