As a Quantum Hardware Engineer, you will collaborate with experts in quantum technology and contribute to groundbreaking advancements in the field. Working closely with software, mechanical, and electrical engineers, as well as algorithm specialists, you will play a key role in designing and developing quantum computing systems.

Responsibilities

  • Module Ownership : Lead a critical module within the quantum computer, such as imaging systems, optical tweezer generation, or laser distribution components.
  • System Integration : Ensure seamless integration and optimization of your module within the broader system.
  • Project Adaptability : Transition to new projects after successful integration.
  • Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration : Work alongside software, mechanical, and electrical engineering teams to drive development and implementation.
  • Continuous Learning : Stay informed on the latest advancements in AMO physics to enhance system performance.

Qualifications

Required

  • A PhD or postdoctoral experience with a strong foundation in AMO physics.
  • Practical experience in setting up and operating lasers and optical systems.

During your academic or research career, you should have engaged with one or more of the following areas :

  • Optical tweezer-based atom arrays
  • Rydberg atoms
  • Ultrahigh vacuum (UHV) systems for ultracold atoms or trapped ions
  • High numerical aperture imaging and addressing
  • Highly stable lasers (frequency and amplitude)

Additional Skills (Preferred)

  • Programming experience (e.g., Python)
  • Data analysis
  • Industry experience is highly valued
