About the job

Our Team:

The MSAT Recombinant DS Microbial Platform manages technology transfer, process development, and troubleshooting while implementing new technologies to enhance efficiency and quality. Your role as Process Specialist Downstream Processing involves developing, optimizing, scaling-up, and transferring DSP processes for manufacturing life-saving medicines in the SFB&O DS launch facilities.

Main responsibilities:

• Manage and contribute to technology transfer and validation activities of mammalian projects, including preparing transfer, validation, and regulatory documents.
• Collaborate with SFB&O CAPI operations and new product teams to enable rapid tech transfer and validation, including PPQ activities.
• Design and execute experiments to troubleshoot and improve existing purification processes for various expression systems.
• Work closely with upstream and analytical teams to ensure smooth integration of downstream processes into production workflows.
• Implement new purification technologies to enhance yield, purity, and quality across platforms.

About you

• Experience: Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related fields.
• Hands-on experience with downstream processing techniques for recombinant proteins.
• Proven track record in process development and optimization for biopharmaceuticals from different expression systems.
• Experience with scale-up, tech transfer, and manufacturing processes for recombinant proteins.
• Skills: Knowledge of chromatography, filtration, and purification methods; project management and leadership skills.
• Languages: Proficiency in German and English, both oral and written.
