Global Strategic Procurement Manager (m/f/d)

Olympus Winter & Ibe GmbH (OWI)

Chief Manufacturing and Supply Officer limited to 16 months

Your Responsibilities

1. Definition of key sourcing strategies aligned to Olympus business requirements to be socialized and executed across global procurement team for production material and products/ finished goods manufactured externally including risk-management.
2. Develop strong partnership with key business stakeholders and global procurement team members.
3. Close collaboration with the global procurement organization in support of defined strategies.
4. Sourcing, supplier selection, contract negotiation and management.
5. Ensure early supplier identification and selection, working closely with Advanced Sourcing team.
6. Supplier relationship management (SRM).
7. Supplier performance management and supplier development.
8. Responsible for the development and execution of cost improvement pipeline for Olympus 3rd party direct spend.
9. Continuous improvement of material and services costs.
10. Develop and drive continuous improvements in global Category Management and Advanced Sourcing processes.

Your Qualification

1. Bachelor’s degree in business or a related discipline, MBA or equivalent preferred.
2. 7+ years of experience in international strategic procurement in a manufacturing environment.
3. Experience in leading and participating on cross-functional and/or global teams, and a track record of successfully leading strategic initiatives and problem-solving initiatives.
4. Experience in the development and management of an international supply base is essential.
5. Supplier relationship management (SRM).
6. Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with ability to see issues from multiple viewpoints and understand differing needs of stakeholders (e.g. Business, R&D, Quality, Operations, Suppliers).
7. Fluency in English.
