About the Role:

Planet is looking for an ambitious and creative Account Executive – Government (DACH) to expand our business with the German Federal Government, drive new engagements with German federal states, and develop opportunities in Austria and Switzerland.

This role is an excellent opportunity for a driven and innovative sales professional to develop their career under the mentorship of an experienced Account Executive. You will work as part of a tight-knit sales team, contributing to a shared team quota and helping to expand Planet’s impact in the region. This role offers a unique career-building opportunity to gain deep expertise in government sales while working alongside some of the best in the industry. The ideal candidate is a German native speaker with a foundational belief that everything is possible, is eager to learn, and is motivated to push boundaries. A solid understanding of procurement law and government sales processes in Germany is key, alongside a passion for technology and a consultative sales approach.

This is a full-time, remote role based in Germany. Travel for business is expected up to approximately 25%.

Impact You’ll Own:

  1. Develop and expand business with the German Federal Government and federal states.
  2. Build opportunities in Austria and Switzerland, growing Planet’s public sector presence.
  3. Work closely with the Senior Account Executive, aligning on strategy and execution.
  4. Collaborate with marketing and SDR teams to generate leads and target key stakeholders.
  5. Engage decision-makers and procurement professionals, navigating government sales cycles.
  6. Craft compelling narratives and proposals that align with customer needs.
  7. Lead negotiations and manage contracting processes within public procurement frameworks.
  8. Use Salesforce.com and Clari to track pipeline, forecasts, and key account activities.

What You Bring:

  1. 4+ years of sales or business development experience in a relevant field.
  2. Native-level German speaker and fluent in English.
  3. Knowledge of German public procurement law and processes (or willingness to learn quickly).
  4. A consultative sales mindset with an ability to identify customer needs and craft tailored solutions.
  5. Ability to be resilient, creative, learn quickly, and be highly motivated.
  6. Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.
  7. Experience with CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce).

What Makes You Stand Out:

  1. Experience working with German government agencies or federal states.
  2. Experience with data-driven sales strategies.
  3. Background in geospatial, satellite technology, or SaaS sales.
