Job Title: (Senior) Renewables Originator
We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a (Senior) Renewables Originator for our offices in Hamburg or Stockholm. You will report to the Director of Renewables Origination.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Originate new business in renewable energy markets aligned with Vattenfall’s portfolio and strategy.
- Identify deal opportunities focusing on mid and long-term Renewable Energy Solutions, PPAs, Corporate PPAs, and Hydrogen offtake.
- Structure and negotiate long-term PPAs for projects or portfolios from our European pipeline.
- Coordinate PPA tender processes and lead negotiations with internal and external stakeholders.
- Build and maintain relationships within the German energy market, especially with renewable generators and customers.
- Execute asset strategy with Business Area Wind for Onshore Wind, Offshore Wind, and Solar projects.
- Collaborate with Legal, Energy Portfolio Management, and Energy Risk Management teams to ensure PPAs are financeable and strategic.
- Present negotiation outcomes to internal committees to support business decisions.
- Analyze electricity market developments, monitor price trends, and develop relationships with industrial customers.
- Prepare business cases, investment proposals, and presentations for project approval.
Your profile:
- Extensive experience in power markets, preferably in Renewables Origination.
- Master of Science or higher in a technical or economic field.
- Fluent in German and English.
- Deep understanding of European electricity markets, regulatory frameworks, and market participants.
- Ability to work independently and in team settings, with strong negotiation skills.
- Strong networker with excellent trust-building skills.
- Resilient, determined, and strategic thinker.
- Ideally familiar with investment banking and M&A transactions.
- Knowledge of the hydrogen value chain and power energy markets.
- Proven track record in structuring and negotiating long-term PPAs or similar agreements.
