Job Description:

Together with the CDO of the Schunk Group, an international technology group with operations in 26 countries, we are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (m/f/d) for Edge-IoT-Applications to further develop the group-wide digitization strategy at the Heuchelheim site (FFM area).

The Schunk Group, with a turnover of 1.6 billion euros and more than 9,600 employees, is a leading manufacturer of high-tech materials and innovations in high-performance microchips, renewable energies, optics, and laser technologies.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility and provide technical leadership for the development and support of the existing edge platform, ensuring the integration of new requirements in .NET
• Connect operating systems (Linux) and create APIs to enhance overall system design
• Collaborate with business units to understand requirements and incorporate them into system development
• Optimize the connection of machines and sensors to the IoT platform using protocols like Modbus and OPC UA

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of software development with .NET and familiarity with Linux system configuration
• Experience in developing applications and interfaces for IoT environments
• Practical experience with communication protocols such as Modbus and OPC UA (preferred)
• Excellent communication skills, team-oriented, responsible, and proficient in English
