About the role

You will be instrumental in Verve’s growth by ensuring quality revenue financial operations. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will collaborate across teams to implement accounting processes and controls, supporting all business areas as needed.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage revenue accounting, including reviewing financial terms, enforcing revenue recognition policies, and customer receivable reconciliation.
2. Lead monthly/quarterly/annual close processes related to revenue billing and reporting, including JE preparation, reconciliation, and customer reviews.
3. Collaborate with legal to maintain a robust contract management system, tracking amendments and active contracts.
4. Develop trackers for non-standard financial terms and ensure accurate recording of rebates, revenue shares, and discounts.
5. Automate and synchronize revenue reports, working with data and sales teams to align BI reports with accounting.
6. Establish and document revenue accounting policies and internal controls.
7. Lead cash collection initiatives, maintaining healthy accounts receivable, and building relationships with business unit GMs.
8. Continuously seek process simplification and automation in revenue accounting.
9. Manage, develop, and grow a team of 4 Finance Operations Accountants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in hyper-growth environments.
• Leadership experience managing finance teams for 2-3 years.
• Proficient in Excel, with experience in Netsuite or similar ERP systems.
• Strong background in revenue accounting, practices, and processes.
• Excellent communication skills and adaptability.
• High attention to detail and precision.
• Nice to have: SQL, Python, automation experience.
