About the Job

This position is based in Keysight Laboratories in Bochum, where we develop cutting-edge application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) to enhance performance and distinguish our electronic test and measurement products. We foster a collaborative engineering environment that values teamwork, enthusiasm, and excellence in designing high-performance analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits.

Responsibilities

What you will be doing:

• Joining the Mixed-Signal ASIC Design team to develop custom ASIC data converter solutions for GHz applications.
• Implementing core ADC and DAC structures, designing streaming I/O data paths, and supporting the measurement and emulation of communication transceiver ASICs in CMOS and BiCMOS technologies.
• Innovating the next generation of high-performance mixed-signal ASICs to give Keysight’s test and measurement products a competitive edge in performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Facilitating the generation and characterization of high-speed signals such as serial links and RF waveforms.
• Leveraging your IC design knowledge to contribute to the development of the world's fastest and most accurate measurement ICs.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• PhD in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field, with thesis work on mixed-signal IC design preferred, or an M.S. with substantial IC design experience.
• Experience in designing high-speed analog and mixed-signal circuits in CMOS or BiCMOS technologies, including both transistor-level and physical design.
• Experience with mixed-signal building blocks and integrated systems such as PLLs, DACs, serializers, ADCs, or wideband amplifiers.
• Proven ability to work well in a team environment, with strong documentation and presentation skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills for a dynamic, collaborative environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot and identify root causes of complex problems.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience in a complete design and fabrication cycle of mixed-signal circuits.
• Knowledge of GHz clock, DAC, and ADC circuits, with a solid understanding of device modeling, thermal design, and IC packaging.
• Understanding of semiconductor device parasitics, signal integrity, and electromagnetic issues.
• Experience with at least the 65 nm process node.
• Skills in mixed-mode simulation, behavioral modeling, and automation scripting.
• Hands-on measurement experience with advanced test equipment.
• Experience with digital design flows using RTL and synthesis tools.
• Self-motivated with a drive to meet aggressive development schedules and manufacturing standards.
