Senior Legal Counsel, Labour Law & Labour Relations

Location : Frankfurt, Germany

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join its Labour Law & Labour Relations team in Frankfurt. In this role you will provide expert legal counsel on labour law, employee relations, and compliance, including works council negotiations and collective bargaining. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Labour Law & Labour Relations and ensure the company adheres to relevant labour laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Advise on compliance with national and international labour laws, employee rights, and collective bargaining agreements (CBA).
  • Lead and support works council negotiations, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and aligning with company goals.
  • Counsel on employee relations matters, including grievance handling and dispute resolution.
  • Provide legal support in resolving labour disputes, including through mediation, arbitration, and litigation.
  • Assist in developing policies to mitigate legal risks and ensure fair workplace practices.
  • Work with HR, Compliance, and other teams to align on labour-related matters and support workforce management.

Requirements :

  • A law degree from Germany (Volljurist qualification) is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in labour law and employee relations, with proven experience in works council negotiations.
  • Strong legal analysis, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to manage complex labour-related issues.
