Position Details:

We are seeking a "Professor for UX Design and Content Creation" in a half-time (50%) role with a permanent contract starting April 1. The position can be combined with a similar vacancy in Berlin, with travel between Berlin and Leipzig required.

Your duties:

• Represent the UX Design and Content Creation field at Leipzig.
• Focus on UX design, user interface design, and media production in teaching and research, including basic and advanced concepts.
• Secure third-party funding through research and transfer activities.
• Contribute to the development and expansion of degree programs.
• Deliver practice-oriented teaching mainly in English and digital formats.
• Engage in research and development activities.
• Participate actively in university self-administration.

Your profile:

• Degree in relevant fields such as UI/UX design, interaction design, media informatics, media design, or motion design.
• Knowledge of programming/scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, C# for Unity or Unreal).
• Expertise in audio, video, and mixed reality production.
• Experience in designing innovative interaction solutions across various applications.
• Understanding of development and design questions in new media, including AI, social media, and societal impacts.
• Desirable: Human-centered design expertise in innovation processes.
• Strong professional and scientific qualifications in media.
• Excellent command of English and willingness to teach in English.
• Passion for mentoring students and engaging in applied research.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Gender and diversity competence.
• Experience in academic self-administration.
• Fulfillment of §84 of the Thüringer Higher Education Act (ThürHG) requirements for professors.
