About the role

You will oversee the commodity accounting closing process for trading desks, focusing on profit and loss analysis.

• Facilitate the Commodity Accounting closing process, ensuring smooth month/quarter/year-end procedures and driving process improvements.
• Reconcile performance reporting to IFRS and local standards, maintaining accuracy and compliance.
• Post unrealized derivatives and accruals for realized transactions.
• Collaborate with the Data team to enhance transparency and support automation.
• Analyze data to identify issues, providing transparency to management.
• Support accounting projects.

Job requirements and experience

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACMA/ACCA/CIMA) with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with complex data experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Access.
• Deep knowledge of IFRS and/or German accounting standards (HGB).
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Pro-active and team-oriented attitude.

Advantages (not essential)

• Familiarity with SAP or S/4HANA.
• SQL experience.
• Audit background.
• Experience in commodity trading, risk management, valuation, or controlling.
