has a full-time Systems Administrator opportunity available based in Moehringen, Germany.

Qualified candidates for this job must possess a current DoD TS / SCI security clearance and meet TESA accreditation requirements.

  • TESA Certification allows employees to be tax exempt for both Germany and US, in addition to other great perks.

This position is in support of a Department of Defense (DoD) organization, US EUCOM, located OCONUS in Stuttgart, Germany.

This position requires travel OCONUS.

As a Linux Systems Administrator, you will configure, optimize, and maintain our Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and other Linux-based systems.

Drawing on your 7-9 years of IT experience, you will troubleshoot, monitor, and secure Linux environments supporting critical infrastructure for global military operations.

Your responsibilities include ensuring high availability, peak performance, and system integrity to meet mission-critical demands.

Role Responsibilities
  1. Manage and monitor system resources for optimal performance, including capacity planning and best practices for system optimization.
  2. Administer Linux-based systems through installation, configuration, patching, and security hardening, following DISA STIG requirements.
  3. Support automation of system administration tasks using shell scripting or tools like Ansible, GitLab, AWX / AAP, PowerShell, and develop CI / CD pipelines.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing limited support for Windows and networking systems when needed.
  5. Contribute to incident resolution by troubleshooting system issues in real-time, providing Tier 2 / 3 support.
  6. Work with tools like ServiceNow, RHEL, Ubuntu, NXLog / SYSLog, Red Hat Satellite, Content Delivery Nodes, AWX / Ansible, GitLab, Clevis & Tang, Apache, and Splunk.
  7. Have hands-on experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Bash scripting, or similar.
  8. Familiarity with virtualization (VMware, KVM) and containerization (Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  9. Possess a solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  10. Maintain security awareness and implement best practices for system integrity and compliance.
  11. Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, supporting security and vulnerability mitigation to meet Cyber / IA requirements.
  12. Review and prepare documentation for systems, testing, and software installation.
  13. Administer systems for various projects, supporting different schedules.
  14. Interface with vendors for trouble calls.
  15. Support planning of system and environment requirements for projects.
  16. May provide guidance and work direction to others.

The candidate must communicate clearly and effectively, both written and orally, and present ideas professionally.

Work in dynamic, fast-paced environments requiring team interaction and coordination.

Interface with client managers and system users effectively.

Support systems and applications on a dispersed enterprise network, including supporting a global Active Directory infrastructure.

Provide Tier 1 / 2 / 3 support, including troubleshooting and configuration of servers, with potential remote or on-site support.

Experience with Cisco routers and switches is desirable for supporting network devices.

Qualifications

BA / BS + 3 years recent experience, or AA / AS + 7 years recent experience, or relevant certifications + 7 years, or 11 years of recent specialized experience.

Certifications: RedHat Certified Solutions Associate or higher, Linux+, LPIC-1/2/3, or similar.

Security Clearance: Must possess an active TS / SCI clearance.

Preferred Skills

ITIL v3 Foundation, automation with PowerShell or VBScript, experience with Microsoft SCCM, VMware ESXi, network storage (SAN/NAS), and enterprise backup solutions.

Adaptability to changing circumstances and operational needs.

Understanding of DoD standards.

Travel

Up to 10% travel required, including potential overnight stays. Active passport required for OCONUS travel.

Work Environment

Office setting; primarily sitting at a desk, working with computers. May require short travel to different sites.

Background Checks
