As a freelance Medical Interpreter German Arabic (m / w / d), you will be responsible for accompanying Arabic-speaking patients during their medical appointments in Berlin, Germany, and translating from Arabic to German and vice versa.

Your primary responsibility is to ensure that medical professionals fully understand the patient's complaints and that patients comprehend their medical conditions, treatment options, and care instructions provided by healthcare specialists.

This is not a full-time position. We are seeking multiple freelancers to support us as needed.

Your Tasks & Responsibilities

1. Provide in-person interpretation services for Arabic-speaking patients during medical appointments with German-speaking healthcare providers.
2. Accurately interpret spoken communication between patients and medical staff, ensuring clarity and precision in both languages.
3. Assist patients in understanding medical terminology, procedures, and treatment plans.
4. Support patients in completing necessary paperwork, such as consent forms or intake questionnaires.
5. Facilitate a comfortable and trusting environment for the patient by providing cultural and emotional support as needed.

Your Profile

1. Fluent in both German and Arabic.
2. Previous experience as a medical interpreter.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
5. Knowledge of medical terminology in both German and Arabic.
6. Strong cultural understanding of Arabic-native patients.
7. Ability to remain impartial and neutral during interpretation.
8. Availability to travel to various medical appointments as needed.
