Our client is a global biopharmaceutical company and a leader in the manufacture of plasma-derived and recombinant therapeutic products in more than 100 countries. The company is committed to treating rare and serious diseases and improving the quality of life of patients around the world.
For the Marburg site (Recombinant and Gene Therapy Product Development Department), we are looking for a Laboratory Technician (m / f / d) for a fixed-term contract of 18 months, starting as soon as possible.
Main responsibilities :
- Perform experimental routine testing of development samples, operate complex analytical instruments and software, including but not limited to HPLC (RPLC, CEX, AAA, SEC), plate-based assays (e.g., ELISA), and automated liquid handling stations (TECAN, Hamilton).
- Check raw data and electronically report generated data; monitor and control method performance.
- Maintain and calibrate instruments; handle general lab coordination activities.
- Interpret scientific data, support analytical root-cause investigations, and propose next steps as needed.
- Assist with general lab tasks such as buffer preparation.
- Communicate effectively with customers and project teams, both written and orally.
Qualifications and Experience :
- Strong technical/scientific background in a life science discipline, preferably protein biochemistry or biotechnology.
- Proven experience in executing complex, state-of-the-art bioanalytical methods in the lab.
- Experience operating complex bioanalytical instrumentation (e.g., HPLC, CE-SDS) and automated liquid handling systems.
- Proficiency with standard software (MS Office), laboratory and statistical software (e.g., ELN, Jmp), with practical knowledge of bioanalytical software and scripting skills relevant for data science.
- Motivated, reliable, detail-oriented, with a solid foundation in bioanalytical techniques and a quick learning ability.
- Ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and focus on problem-solving and task completion within agreed timelines.
- Experience in sample management.
- Passion for working on critical unmet medical needs of patients.
- Typically completed a 3.5-year training, e.g., as a biology laboratory technician.
- Project experience in product development and knowledge of relevant methods, systems, and applications.
- Minimum 5 years of work experience, preferably with additional certification.
- Fluent in English (Level 2); knowledge of German is beneficial.
