A leading global advanced materials company is seeking a Senior Europe Tax Manager. This role involves overseeing tax compliance, advising on tax matters, and managing stakeholder relationships. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in taxation and accounting, particularly within the European context. Drive and lead the quarterly US GAAP reporting (ASC 740) functions for entities within Europe by supporting global tax and local finance teams.
Advise and consult global tax with respect to positions taken on tax returns, uncertain tax positions identified, tax controversy matters, and cash tax projections.
Provide tax advice to Momentive entities in Europe with regards to new investment, divestment, business model transformation, tax incentive application, financing, transfer pricing, permanent establishment, BEPS initiatives, etc.
Primary contact in managing tax advisory projects and tax audits in Europe.
Oversee direct and indirect tax compliance activities of Momentive entities in Europe.
Identify potential tax opportunities and risks, communicate to management, and work with global tax and regional finance teams to ensure proper documentation and implementation.
Support transfer pricing documentation for group entities in Europe, monitor the implementation of the global transfer pricing policy, and collaborating with other functions on Trade Compliance.
Liaise with local tax authorities (when appropriate) and external consultants on tax planning, reporting, filing, and audit defense.
Occasional travel is needed.

Accountable to identify tax and transfer pricing issues/risks and ensure mitigation/resolution action plans are implemented.
Accountable to ensure adherence to all tax and accounting policies and processes.

Qualifications:The following are required for the role
Bachelor Degree in Accounting / Tax / Finance / Economics or a qualification as a tax advisor
Several years of experience in taxation and accounting; knowledge of international tax regulation and familiarity with the local tax environments.
Experience handling corporate taxes in the European region, with working knowledge of transfer pricing issues and implications.
Big 4 or large corporate experience is required.
Excellent communication skills; flexible and cooperative.
Ability to independently work under pressure on multiple tax projects.
Ability to work as part of a global matrixed team.
Diligent character with willingness to learn.
Fluent in written and oral English & German.
Proficient computer skills.
Preferred qualifications are:
Certified Public Accountant or Chartered Accountant
Specific tax experiences with Germany, Italy, & U.K.
