Sales Manager, Cosmetic Ingredients (DACH) – Germany (Remote) - Mid-Sized Manufacturer

Irving Knight has partnered with a highly innovative and reputable Cosmetic Ingredient Manufacturer to identify a Sales Manager focused on the DACH region. My client is well known for their Preservatives and Actives and boasts a portfolio of over 300 scientifically backed ingredients.

They invest 4% of revenue into R&D and release six new ingredients annually, making them one of the most innovative companies in the market. They also promote gender diversity, with a 50/50 split at management level.

This role involves growing the existing €2m business across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. It is fully remote with 30% travel and involves managing two distribution partners. This position offers opportunities for technical, professional, and personal growth, acting as the 'face of the company' in the DACH region for a leading scientific manufacturer.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  1. Reporting to the EMEA Sales Director, you will be responsible for driving business growth across DACH with up to 30% travel.
  2. Utilize product knowledge and sales experience to communicate the value proposition effectively.
  3. Maintain and enhance customer service through innovative initiatives.
  4. Monitor industry changes, emerging markets, and competitive landscapes, providing analysis as needed.
  5. Participate in industry tradeshows and events as required.
  6. Represent the company at conferences, industry events, and on social media platforms.
  7. Apply effective sales techniques to prospect new customers and communicate the brand effectively.
  8. Advance prospects through the sales process to secure new business.
  9. Prepare and deliver sales presentations and product demonstrations, in person or virtually.
  10. Arrange in-person visits with key customer contacts.
  11. Address customer questions and concerns promptly and accurately.
  12. Send quotes and samples as needed.
  13. Participate in new product launches, training, joint sales efforts, and testing.
  14. Report customer issues, meetings, and opportunities regularly.
  15. Collaborate closely with product management, pricing, and R&D teams.

Qualifications

  1. A BSc or higher in Chemistry, Pharmaceuticals, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  2. Proven success in acquiring new customers, with measurable results.
  3. Minimum three years' experience selling Cosmetic Ingredients in Germany, preferably across the DACH region; seven+ years is preferred.
  4. Fluency in English and German; additional languages are a plus.
  5. Self-motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic with a positive outlook.
  6. Strong communication skills, adaptable to different audiences.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  8. Valid driver's license and proof of insurability.
  9. Existing network within the Personal Care industry is advantageous.
  10. Willingness to travel over 30% of the time.
