Job Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing new software functions
- Optimizing and adapting existing software modules
- Creating software and device documentation according to internal standards and norms
- Defining test specifications, developing suitable testing methods, and implementing them
- Simulating power converter functions, circuits, and control algorithms
- Conducting training sessions for testing, service, engineering, and sales teams regarding product and software updates
- Supporting commissioning and service deployments on-site, including troubleshooting and problem resolution
- Leading projects in pre-development, ensuring internal and external requirements are met considering hardware constraints
- Creating design specifications in close collaboration with the project team
- Defining interface, production, quality, and logistics requirements for market-appropriate firmware development
- Selecting and coordinating existing functions to meet new product requirements
- Documenting functions with descriptions, block diagrams, flowcharts, and module interconnections
- Coordinating interfaces with related functional groups
- Managing and maintaining firmware modules in version control systems according to IMS guidelines
- Managing and publishing technical documentation
Requirements
- Completed degree in Electrical Engineering (Dipl.-Ing.)
- Professional experience in industrial software development
- Strong knowledge in embedded software development, preferably related to power electronics or power converters
- Experience with version control systems and documentation tools
- Analytical thinking, structured working style, and enjoyment of interdisciplinary teamwork
- Willingness to travel occasionally (e.g., for commissioning and training)
- Excellent German and English language skills, both written and spoken
