ABOUT THE TEAM

To support Trade Republic’s mission, we — the Data Platform — enable well-informed decision making through creating self-service platforms supporting the Data Culture across all Data and Engineering teams. By joining the Data Platform team, you will play a key role in creating the foundational infrastructure that powers these platforms.

Design, build, and maintain self-service tools and end-to-end platforms that allow stakeholders to create, build, and schedule data workflows for various use cases (experimentation, machine learning, BI, streaming, etc.).

As a Staff Engineer, you will be recognized as a source of new ideas and a key contributor on both technical and strategic levels. You will be heavily involved in architecture, mentoring engineers, establishing technical leadership, and solving complex problems in your domain.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Contribute strategically and technically to the development of new products with meaningful business impact
• Establish leadership and clarity when facing ambiguous problems
• Own projects that span across multiple verticals at Trade Republic
• Architect and develop systems capable of processing massive data in batch and real-time
• Create user-centric interfaces and tooling around data platform products
• Mentor and empower upcoming technical leaders at Trade Republic

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Strong ability to communicate ideas and technical implementations to stakeholders from various backgrounds
• Experience and passion for building systems that handle large-scale data in batch and real-time, with tools like Kafka, Flink, Spark, Storm, Hive, or similar technologies
• Language-agnostic problem-solving approach, focusing on the right tools for the task
• Experience with infrastructure as code and promoting best practices
• Ability to build user-centric services that enable teams to deploy data services at scale easily
• Exceptional ownership and drive to create business impact and empower colleagues
• Pragmatism and focus on impactful projects over technical complexity alone
