About the Role

As a Level Designer based in Frankfurt, you will collaborate with the Level Design team, Assistant Content Director, and Art team to create locations and sandbox experiences for Star Citizen.

You will develop everything from small outposts to large cities across multiple planets, moons, and solar systems.

Working alongside artists, you will be central to building our sandbox experience and bringing the universe to life!

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with game designers and artists to build diverse locations for the Star Citizen universe.
• Drive gameplay and sandbox experiences, implementing puzzles and traversal challenges systematically.
• Prototype level interactions, puzzles, challenges, events, and modular content layouts.
• Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative team environment.
• Provide feedback to the tools team on location tools and procedural content experiences.

Qualifications for Senior Level Designer

• Experience in developing and shipping AAA titles, with a clear understanding of level design from concept to completion.
• Proficiency with game editors and blockout tools, emphasizing 3D blockouts and location flow.
• Technical expertise with advanced editors and modular/procedural content creation.
• Strong communication skills and experience working across disciplines.
• Experience working on open-world multiplayer games.
