About the role Siemens EDA is seeking an Application Engineer for its European Technical Organization, focusing on the Calibre line of products, a market leader in physical verification and circuit verification. The primary purpose is to work closely with customers and the sales team to manage technical engagements that support sales campaigns and drive the adoption of Siemens EDA Calibre software tools.

1. Develop close relationships with customers to assess their technical requirements and explore options for Siemens EDA's Calibre solutions. This includes proactive contact, presentations, demonstrations, articulating product value, and engaging in benchmarks and evaluations.
2. Drive product adoption in customer projects by creating methodologies and workflows, including infrastructure and integration, identifying pilot projects, and debugging new workflows.
3. Identify and qualify new opportunities, assess their technical viability, and communicate effectively with the sales team. Establish success criteria for technical engagements to highlight Siemens EDA's strengths.
4. Provide technical leadership during sales campaigns to contribute to account/area business plans.
5. Share useful account, evaluation, competitor, and technology information proactively with peers, sales, management, and product teams to enhance competitiveness.
6. Participate actively in outbound marketing activities such as trade shows, workshops, seminars, and webcasts.

We seek a highly motivated, results-oriented, and accountable individual who thrives in an international environment. The position can be based in any country within our central and northern region (Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Germany, etc.), with some international travel within Europe and the US expected.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• BSEE or equivalent required; MSEE preferred.
• Proven experience as an Application Engineer or significant experience in customer environments with physical verification (DRC, DFM) and circuit verification tools (LVS, PERC, PEX). Experience with analog or physical design is welcome.
• Broad understanding of physical verification, circuit verification, extraction, DFM methodologies, and flows. Experience with EM/IR is a plus.
• Expertise in scripting/programming (TCL/Tk, Python) in CAD environments.
• Familiarity with rule deck writing (Calibre TVF, SVRF).
• Knowledge of competitive tool requirements, net list interfaces, and formats.
• Experience with competitive tools and flows is advantageous.
• Knowledge of compute farms, grid setting, and monitoring.
• Working familiarity with Unix and Linux OS.
• Ability to quickly understand technology and explain/optimize results.
• Ability to prioritize and document activities based on business ROI.
• Ability to identify new business opportunities and communicate potential to sales management.
• Dedicated, motivated team player with good communication skills and enjoyment working with customers and in large teams.
