For the winter term of 2025/26, we are seeking a professor (m/f/d) for the degree program Software Development at IU International University, limited to 2 years at our campus in Berlin, full-time (5 days on campus) or part-time (4 days on campus), starting on October 1st, 2025.
- You represent the field of Software Development in teaching and research within the bachelor's degree program and become part of an extensive network in the field of higher education.
- You develop and lead face-to-face lectures on Campus and are responsible for the individual supervision of our students during their exams and while they prepare their thesis.
- You teach practice-oriented fundamental knowledge in Software Development and are capable of training our students in areas such as Algorithms, Data Structures, Programming Languages, Web Application Development, IT Systems, Python programming, and Data-Intensive Sciences Software Engineering.
- You contribute to the creative development of teaching formats within IU’s didactic concept and collaborate with colleagues to enhance these formats.
Your Profile
- You have a university degree in Software Development or a related field with outstanding academic performance and hold a relevant doctoral degree (Ph.D.).
- You have at least five years of practical work experience, including three years outside academia, and some initial teaching experience is preferred.
- You demonstrate your expertise through publications or projects.
- You are team-oriented, reliable, and committed to in-person teaching, with proficiency in virtual lectures.
- You reside permanently in Germany.
- You have English language skills at C1 level (CEFR).
The employment is governed by the Higher Education Law Thüringen.
