Research Analyst Macro and Capital Markets Global, Munich

MEAG, part of the Munich Re Group and one of the world's leading asset managers, is seeking a Research Analyst to shape the future of macroeconomic research.

Responsibilities:
  1. Research and analyze current macroeconomic trends, topics, and events.
  2. Create, maintain, and update proprietary macroeconomic models.
  3. Evaluate research provided by brokers and independent institutions.
  4. Develop international macro scenarios on economic activity and capital market expectations across asset classes.
  5. Handle information requests from institutional clients, the executive board, and portfolio management.
  6. Prepare and communicate research outputs to stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  1. Master's degree in economics, econometrics, finance, or a related field.
  2. First experience in the financial industry (e.g., internships in investment banking, asset management, wealth management) is advantageous.
  3. Strong knowledge of global economics and fundamental analysis; quantitative analysis skills are a plus.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with statistical packages like EViews, R, or MATLAB is desirable.
  5. Experience with external databases such as Bloomberg or Refinitiv EIKON is a plus.
  6. Fluent in German and English (C1 level); excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  7. Creative and out-of-the-box thinking with high analytical skills.
