Job Title: Sr Electrical Engineer, EU AMZL Sustainability Engineering, Taufkirchen

EU Sustainability Engineering team is seeking a Sr Electrical Engineer to expand programs within Amazon's electrification transformation.

Amazon is committed to building a sustainable future, aiming to be net-zero carbon by 2040 under The Climate Pledge. This role focuses on electrifying last mile and middle mile fleets and enhancing energy efficiency in buildings, including expanding a large private charging network and developing innovative electrical designs for smart grids.

• Munich
• London

Key Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate with stakeholders to install electrical infrastructure for EV charging and smart grids.
2. Drive energy efficiency initiatives and implement IoT technologies like smart meters.
3. Manage vendors to ensure quality and safety during installations.
4. Develop and uphold electrical equipment standards.
5. Validate designs to ensure compliance with electrical standards.
6. Support Field Engineering during on-site installations.
7. Create business cases and present to leadership for program scoping.

A Day in the Life:

You will engage with various organizational levels and stakeholder groups to make impactful decisions across Amazon’s transportation network, collaborating with operations, safety, finance, procurement, and vendors.

About the Team:

The EU Sustainability Engineering team develops electrical standards for EV charging and smart grid solutions, focusing on reliability and cost-efficiency. They work closely with global and local teams to optimize resources and improve products.

Basic Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree or higher in electrical engineering or related field.
• Experience managing large programs in fast-paced environments with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience in financial planning for large-scale projects.
• Strong communication skills and data analysis proficiency.
• Proficiency in Excel, reporting tools, databases, and cloud computing.
• Fluent in English; German proficiency is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in electrical engineering or similar.
• Experience with electrical program procurement, hardware, and maintenance contracting.
• Resource planning experience for large programs.
• Knowledge of the European and global electrical and energy sectors.
• Experience in EV charging and Smart Grid technologies.
