EU Sustainability Engineering team is seeking a Sr Electrical Engineer to support programs within Amazon's electrification transformation. Amazon is committed to a sustainable future, aiming to be net-zero carbon by 2040 under The Climate Pledge, ahead of the Paris Agreement. The role focuses on electrifying last and middle mile fleets and enhancing energy efficiency in buildings, including expanding a major private charging network and developing smart grid solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Aligning stakeholder expectations for electrical infrastructure installation supporting EV charging and smart grids.
2. Collaborating with stakeholders to advance energy efficiency initiatives and IoT technology deployment.
3. Managing vendors to ensure quality and timely installation, and coordinating with safety and operations teams on-site.
4. Owning electrical standards for equipment and validating designs to ensure compliance.
5. Supporting field teams during installation and preparing business cases for program scoping.

A typical day involves:

Engaging with various organizational levels and stakeholders to make strategic decisions affecting Amazon’s transportation network, working with operations, safety, finance, procurement, and external vendors to implement new equipment and processes.

About the team:

EU Sustainability Engineering develops and refines electrical standards for EV charging and smart grid solutions, emphasizing reliability and cost-efficiency. The team collaborates closely with global and local teams to optimize the last mile network, leveraging expertise across installation, maintenance, and operations.

Basic qualifications:

• Master's degree or higher in electrical engineering or related field.
• Experience managing large-scale programs with multiple stakeholders in fast-paced environments.
• Financial acumen in budgeting and scalable business solutions.
• Strong communication skills and data analysis proficiency.
• Experience with Excel, reporting tools, databases, and cloud computing.
• Fluent in English; German proficiency is a plus.

Preferred qualifications:

• Advanced degree in electrical engineering or similar technical field.
• Experience in electrical program management, procurement, and maintenance contracting.
• Knowledge of the European and global electrical and energy sectors.
• Experience in EV charging and smart grid technologies.
