For the greater areas Hamburg, Bayern, Berlin, Steiermark, Zürich, we are looking for local based Inspectors for performing Vendor Audits on a freelance basis at local manufacturers.

1. Scope:

To ensure all assignment instructions received for inspection assignments are performed competently and at the required times.

2. Functions relate to:

• Internally: Operations Manager - Coordinators - Technical Manager
• Externally: Suppliers - Clients

3. Tasks (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly):

• Review assignment instructions for adequacy and practicality.
• Attend pre-production and other meetings as required.
• Liaise with clients and others as relevant, to determine inspection stages and requirements.
• Inspect drawings, designs, and specifications for piping, valves, pressure vessels, and other relevant mechanical equipment, ensuring all customer requirements and procedures are followed.
• Visit manufacturers, suppliers, installers, and others as necessary to perform or witness inspections.
• Provide timely reports of inspections performed/witnessed.
• Ensure all inspection and related activities are performed according to Intertek work instructions and procedures.
• Adapt and utilize new technologies within the Intertek group (e-reporting system, Remote Video Inspection System, Evolution system).

4. Competences and experiences:

A minimum of 5 years employed by manufacturer(s) or constructor(s) of the products or materials to be inspected, with knowledge of manufacturing, inspection, and related processes. Educational qualifications (one or more of the following):

• University degree
• National Higher Education
• Chartered Engineer or equivalent

If not, the experience criteria increase to 10 years.

• Valid Driver’s License
• English language proficiency is mandatory.

For field inspectors involved in mechanical inspection, preferred qualifications include:

• European Welding Engineer or National equivalent (e.g., CSWIP / CWI / AWS)
• ISO 9712 or ASNT qualifications
• NACE CIP Level 2 or FROSIO
• ISO 9001 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor

Occupational Health, Safety and Environment Systems

Be aware of company policies regarding Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental issues. Ensure implementation of policies and compliance with legislative regulations. Investigate and follow up on incidents. Be aware of specific on-site policies and procedures.
