ASIC Physical Design Engineer (analog upper tariff / PC05, f/m/div.), Dresden
In our Dresden ASIC development center, we design ASICs for Bosch Sensortec. You will be responsible for the physical implementation of complex digital designs within mixed-signal SoC ASICs for consumer applications.
Responsibilities:
- Create something new: Work in interdisciplinary teams handling full RTL2GDS flow including Synthesis, Place & Route, Physical Design Verification, and Design for Testability.
- Reliable implementation: Ensure 'first time right' IC designs by generating robust timing constraints, processing sign-off checks like Logic-Equivalence-Check (LEC) and static timing analysis (STA), and ensuring power integrity through electromigration (EM) and IR-drop analysis. Also, support product quality via Automatic Test Pattern Generation (ATPG).
- Think holistically: Understand design requirements, derive constraints, create physical implementations at gate level, verify timing on post-layout netlists, and document designs. Collaborate closely with architecture, digital, layout, and analog teams.
- Networked communication: Work within an international, globally distributed team of experts.
- Conscientious coordination: Support continuous improvement of physical design methodologies, flows, and verification strategies.
Qualifications:
- Personality: Strong problem-solving mindset, high technical curiosity, and drive to stay at the forefront of physical design technologies.
- Working Practice: Independent, detail-oriented, quality-driven, with strong team collaboration skills in complex environments.
- Experience: 3-5+ years of industry experience or a relevant PhD; expertise in state-of-the-art Physical Design EDA tools (preferably Synopsys and Ansys); experience in physical design verification (e.g., STA, EM/IR-drop analysis); deep understanding of low power strategies; skills in DfT integration; scripting in TCL and Python; basic knowledge of Verilog/VHDL is a plus.
- Languages: Proficient in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Education: Degree (Dipl.-Ing./M.Sc./PhD) in electrical engineering or related field with excellent academic results.
