ERM is the world’s largest advisory firm focused solely on sustainability, offering expertise across business and finance. We are seeking an experienced financial modeler with carbon market experience to join ERM Climate Markets, supporting the development of carbon credit projects.

The Carbon Financial Modeler will be a core team member, working closely with the commercial structuring lead. Responsibilities include building financial models for carbon asset investments, evaluating financial viability, and managing financial risk for ERM and clients.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years’ experience in financial modelling (renewable energy, oil and gas, etc.) and 3+ years in carbon markets, including project development. A team player with initiative and problem-solving skills is essential.

Responsibilities:

• Assess financial returns of carbon projects and portfolios, projecting cash flows and evaluating capital expenditures.
• Develop predictive financial models for decision-making.
• Conduct sensitivity and scenario analyses, and communicate outcomes to management.
• Prepare documentation for funding from investors.
• Collaborate with finance and tax teams on investment strategies.
• Monitor financial data to identify deviations.
• Guide investment decisions regarding carbon credits and funding.
• Research industry trends and develop innovative financing strategies.
• Create reports for strategic decision-making.
• Develop tools for financial data analysis automation.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, statistics, or related field.
