Job Description: Hardware Developer / Test Engineer (m/w) Embedded Systems - Security Technology

ABUS Security Center, a manufacturer of innovative alarm systems, video surveillance, access control, intercom systems, and alarm detectors, is part of the ABUS Group. The company specializes in security needs for both industry and private users, focusing on developing comprehensive, user-friendly security products that combine mechanics, alarms, access control, and video surveillance into complete solutions. With a focus on Europe, the company operates worldwide.

Starting in July 2024, we are looking for a Hardware Developer / Test Engineer (m/w) in the Embedded Systems Security Technology area to join our development team in Affing (near Augsburg).

Become an active contributor to the development and verification of our innovative Smart Security solutions. Enhance our cross-functional teams with your skills in requirements analysis, development, and implementation of suitable test concepts, and their integration into series production.

Responsibilities

1. Development and testing of innovative electronic ABUS security solutions
2. Creating design and test specifications
3. Synchronizing product and test requirements
4. Designing circuit diagrams, PCB layouts, selecting appropriate components, and preparing manufacturing documentation
5. Developing firmware for commissioning, testing, and verification of our Smart Security projects
6. Defining automated test concepts, designing, and implementing solutions for our embedded security systems
7. Supporting internal and external tests; analyzing and preparing test results
8. Providing technical support in coordinating external development partners and suppliers
9. Maintaining and further developing hardware/firmware of existing products and related test equipment

What You Bring

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field, or career changer with relevant experience
• Several years of practical experience in hardware and firmware development
• Proficiency in Altium Designer
• Hardware-oriented programming skills in C & Python, and experience with Linux
• Methodical and practical experience in test engineering for complex projects
• Good command of English, both spoken and written
