Duties
- Measures, cuts, constructs and/or repairs wood, composite building materials, and wood substitute items where specific fit and accuracy are required within allowable limits to produce a serviceable product.
- As needed, replaces worn or broken wall switches and outlets.
- Loads and unloads heavy boxes, bulky supplies, and materials to and from trucks, dollies, etc.; moves heavy boxes/cartons by hand or dolly; opens crates and boxes using crowbar, cuts bands using shears; stacks boxes and cartons as directed.
- May be required to drive vehicles up to and including a 5-ton truck to move furniture, etc., to various buildings on the installation.
Requirements

- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Possesses satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-13, to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
- This position may require a health screening. Immunizations may be required as a condition of employment for the health and safety of those in the facility.
- The work will be performed both indoors and outdoors. Exposed to dust and dirt.
- May lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds and, occasionally heavier items with assistance.
Qualifications
1. Ability to communicate in English at a level to assure the duties described can be accomplished in a safe and satisfactory manner.
2. Demonstrated skills in successfully operating standard tools.
3. Experience in accomplishing the types of duties described in this job.
Highly Qualified Criteria1. Possession of valid vocational training in carpentry, electrical, or plumbing trades.
OR
2. Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience in commercial or hospitality facilities.
