Job Description

At the Fraunhofer IPT in Aachen, we work with more than 530 employees to make the production of the future more digital, flexible, and sustainable. In the department »Production Quality«, your tasks include conceptualizing solutions to transfer novel technologies into industry.

Within your thesis, you will investigate how to design a cyber security concept for secure industrial 5G communication across various application domains. You will collaborate with our institute and international partners on an EU-funded research project.

What you will do

• Research current cyber security aspects in industrial 5G communication
• Design a concept to incorporate cyber security into different industrial 5G use cases
• Validate the developed concept with industry and research partners

What you bring

• Studying mechanical engineering, computer science, computational engineering science, electrical engineering, or a similar field
• Experience in industrial cyber security (standards and frameworks) is advantageous
• Initiative, motivation, and teamwork skills
• Good English language skills
