This position is focused on preparation of global business processes in DB Schenker countries to promote business effectiveness and efficiency while striving for innovation, flexibility and integration with technology.

The key aspects are in particular:

• Leading AFR RFQs for the Region Europe on a global level
• Independent development of tender specific Air Freight transport solutions especially for the Region Europe
• Coordination of all pricing elements / cost and rate components (worldwide)
• Pricing / proposal preparation as well as verification and benchmarking in accord with the divisions and local country organizations
• Assessment of incoming tenders based upon defined criteria
• Independent tender compilation on a global scale
• Creation of presentations and pricing documents
• Preparing and participating in customer face-to-face meetings on site
• Close cooperation with the purchasing department as well as the sales organization

Requirements

Our ideal candidate is a qualified logistics expert with an Air Freight background and working experience in the forwarding industry. Furthermore, we expect the following abilities:

• Ideally completed professional training as freight forwarding specialist and/or graduated in logistics, transport industry or business administration
• More than 5 years in airfreight operational freight forwarding function
• Well experienced in Airfreight pricing and/or Tender Management
• Ability to work independently / self-responsible
• Excellent as well as profound excel skills and experience
• Convincing analytical skills
• Profound experience in planning, controlling and leading AFR RFQs local, regional and on a global level
• Proven ability to professionally lead and control projects and inspire team members
• Fluent business English and German (spoken and written)
• Good communication skills on an international level / experienced in teamwork
• A mobile, flexible and motivated personality
• Very good knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint (MS Office 2007/2010)
• Willingness to travel globally
