Job Description:

We seek an exceptional business technologist to join our team as a Field CTO & Strategic Advisor (m/f/d) for Technology & Innovation reporting to the Chief Technical Advisor, EMEA. This is a high-impact position working within a team of experienced technologists, industry experts, product advisors, and business consultants. The role involves collaborating across the entire business, including strategic sellers, solutions engineers, architects, customer success teams, internal product and engineering teams, and external partners. You will leverage your experience in delivering technical solutions, systems, and strategies to support and challenge customers in achieving their objectives. As a technical thought leader, you will shape customer strategies, influence messaging, and contribute to our roadmap. Building trust and credibility with customers and internal teams is essential. You will also play a key role in enabling strategic value and contributing to revenue growth for Splunk. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading high-performing technical teams, advising clients, and excelling in fast-paced environments with a strong understanding of analytics and technology landscapes.

Responsibilities:
  • Leverage experience in managing large or complex teams, digital transformations, and organizational change to help customers achieve high-priority objectives.
  • Apply methodologies such as agile, systems thinking, and design thinking to facilitate change for customers.
  • Drive customer success by understanding their strategy, objectives, and technology needs, and expanding data and analytics capabilities.
  • Translate customer needs and collaborate with support, product management, engineering, and other teams to ensure alignment and resolve critical issues.
  • Maintain a credible reputation within the country, EMEA, and specific technical areas.
  • Engage with diverse audiences, from executives to engineering teams, to build relationships and drive outcomes.
  • Deliver thought leadership through participation in forums like the World Economic Forum and industry trade associations.
  • Lead virtual teams strategically and tactically to meet leadership goals.
  • Formulate new market strategies with vertical and value advisors.
  • Provide expert advice and support to regional leadership.
  • Contribute insights to product management and marketing.
  • Develop global programs and enablement initiatives supporting the Customer Success community.
Requirements:

We seek candidates with a blend of skills and a strong desire to learn:

Must (ideally 90%+):
  • Fluent in German and English
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills
  • Experience with data analytics, security, or observability systems
  • Understanding of technological, competitive, and regulatory trends
  • Ability to work independently and in teams with decision-making autonomy
  • Knowledge of organizational change and solution implementation
  • Willingness to learn and share knowledge

  • Based in Germany with travel up to 25-50% within EMEA and occasionally to the US
Should (ideally 50%+):
  • Technical leadership with P&L or investment experience
  • Influenced policy, compliance, or regulation
  • 5+ years in product/service development or operation
  • Experience in technical strategy, delivery, or policy frameworks
  • Expertise in Cyber Security, IT Operations, DevOps, or Observability
  • Experience with public speaking and thought leadership content
