What does an Account Manager do?

As an Account Manager in Germany, your mission is to drive growth by managing and expanding key customer relationships within the food packaging sector. You will act as the strategic link between our innovative packaging solutions and the evolving needs of our clients, helping them achieve their goals while supporting our business objectives. You’ll play a pivotal role in strengthening our presence in the DACH region, delivering value through sustainability, automation, and tailored packaging strategies.

You manage and grow relationships with key customers in your market, becoming their trusted advisor.

You drive and implement our company’s strategic growth programs, turning plans into real results.

You help customers adopt automation systems that improve efficiency and add value.

You support our sustainability goals by guiding customers through packaging solutions that meet new environmental standards.

You continuously build your knowledge of our products and markets so you can offer insights that make a difference.

You collaborate closely with internal teams to create tailored packaging solutions that solve your customers’ challenges.

You develop strong negotiation skills and lead customer conversations with confidence—turning opportunities into long-term partnerships.

You are ideally based in the Dortmund or Cologne area, positioning you well to travel efficiently across your territory and stay close to your customers.

Qualifications

Educational & Industry Background: You have a degree in Food Technology or a related field, along with solid knowledge of industrial food packaging processes.

Sales Experience: You bring proven experience in field sales and are confident managing complex accounts within multinational organizations.

Strategic & Customer Focus: You’re skilled at developing tailored, customer-oriented projects and aligning them with broader company strategies and goals.

Communication & Negotiation: You possess strong negotiation skills, can manage key customer relationships effectively, and communicate fluently in English (both written and spoken).

Mobility & Location: You’re willing to travel across your assigned region and preferably reside in the Dortmund or Cologne area to stay close to key customers.
