The role involves research, strategy development, and collaboration with key stakeholders in the European research ecosystem. Our client is a leading global Chinese company specializing in information and communications technology. Their Power Conversion Technology Laboratory within the Nuremberg Research Center focuses on Advanced Digital Power Technology Research, Architecture Evolution Design, and Strategic Technology Planning. The laboratory plays a crucial role in designing and developing power converters and control systems for applications such as PV Solar & Battery Energy Storage, Data Centers, Electric Vehicles, and Embedded Power Supplies.
Lead research in automotive electrical control technologies, spearheading pioneering projects and overcoming industrialization challenges through innovative theoretical, technical, and engineering solutions to maintain product competitiveness.
Participate in key EU projects, develop technical collaborations with leading research institutions, and communicate with industry stakeholders to enhance the client’s presence in the European research ecosystem.
Develop research strategies aligned with industry dynamics, drive breakthroughs in vehicle and powertrain technologies, expand the patent portfolio, and support industrial commercial success.
Lead local teams across multiple modules (braking, steering, powertrain), motivating team members to create high-performing teams contributing to the client’s initiatives.
Analyze algorithm requirements, design system architecture, and develop detailed designs based on business needs.
Master's degree or higher in vehicle engineering, mechanical and electronic engineering, automation, electrical engineering, or related fields.
Extensive experience in drivetrain and brake systems, with influence in power electronics, drivetrain, braking systems, and vehicle dynamics.
Expertise in drivetrain development, vehicle stability, or torque vectoring (ESC and EPS algorithms), with experience in more than two mass-produced products.
Knowledge of EPS, ESC, torque vectoring, and chassis integrated control algorithms.
Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink and CarSim for modeling, simulation, and code generation, with capabilities in model-based development (MBD).
Strong technical influence and extensive connections within international research, standards, or academic organizations.
Strategic and global vision with excellent cross-cultural communication skills.
Understanding of industry trends to formulate relevant technical strategies.
Fluent in written and spoken English.
