Power Trader (f/d/m)

Because digital energy trading can't wait any longer: At EWE TRADING GmbH, we handle the energy trading activities of the EWE Group and act as the Group's interface to the wholesale markets for energy, natural gas, and emissions rights (EUA and CER). The position is based in Bremen with the option of mobile working.

Your main responsibilities:

1. P&L responsibility for existing and new developing business in proprietary trading (focus on the curve) within the framework of assigned risk mandates.
2. Development and implementation of profitable trading strategies with a focus on NWE countries, especially Germany and neighboring countries with tradable markets (including location-spreads).
3. Support other asset trading, portfolio management, and optimization activities by providing market insights through active collaboration.
4. Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of the market environment, develop a market view, and communicate insights within the company.
5. Lead the continuous development of trade-relevant processes and IT, and facilitate the implementation of new products and markets.

Your profile:

1. Advanced degree in natural sciences, engineering, or economics (diploma or master).
2. Several years of experience managing large power or cross-commodity portfolios, particularly in proprietary trading, with an above-average P&L track record.
3. Broad knowledge of Power and cross-commodity trading strategies.
4. Ability to explain and communicate the impact of price changes on position value.
5. Knowledge of object-oriented programming languages (e.g., Python) is advantageous.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Entrepreneurial attitude, strong motivation to perform and learn, and a hands-on mentality.
8. Resilient, team-oriented, and open to developing ideas to meet team objectives.
9. Very good English skills; German language skills are an advantage.
