Job Description

The Assistant Camp Manager is expected to collaborate with the Camp Manager to ensure the efficient management and smooth operation of the camp. This role involves supervising teaching and activity staff, sharing responsibility for creating an enjoyable and developmental camp experience for all students in a respectful, inspiring, and safe environment. The Assistant Camp Manager will oversee activities and excursions, manage the Activity Leader team, develop activity schedules, manage risks, and liaise with external activity partners.

Qualifications

Essential Criteria

Experience in staff management and leadership in a professional setting.
Experience working with children or young people professionally.
Some German proficiency (spoken B1-B2 minimum) and ability to communicate with activity providers.
Fluency in English.
Self-sufficient, growth-oriented mindset with proven problem-solving skills.
High physical, mental, and emotional resilience.
Energetic, enthusiastic, and comfortable speaking in front of large groups.
Availability during management and staff training in Berlin (June 10-20, 2025) and the summer season (June 21-August 10).

Desired Criteria

Fluency in German and English.
Experience in outdoor education or summer camps.
Driver's license and ability to drive a minivan.

Additional Information

What we offer

A weekly summer salary of EUR 810-900, DOE.
Pre-summer management training (10 days) and general training on language immersion, child development, outdoor facilitation, and positive behavior support techniques.
First Aid and CPR certification.
Full room and board, including a private room during the summer.
Travel reimbursement up to EUR 160.
Recommendation bonuses for referring other staff members.
