We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Private Equity Associate with a specialization in growth equity to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of professional experience in growth equity investments or a related field such as early-stage startup investments. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in identifying, evaluating, and managing high-growth companies within the DACH region.

Position can be based in Munich or Berlin.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deal Sourcing: Identify and evaluate growth-stage investment opportunities, leveraging networks, industry research, and market trends.
  • Due Diligence: Conduct thorough financial, operational, and market due diligence to assess potential investments.
  • Financial Modeling: Build and analyze detailed financial models to evaluate investment opportunities and forecast growth scenarios.
  • Investment Thesis Development: Craft clear and compelling investment theses and present recommendations to the Investment Committee.
  • Portfolio Management: Monitor and support portfolio companies post-investment, providing strategic and operational guidance to drive value creation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with entrepreneurs, founders, and key industry players in the startup ecosystem.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience: 2-4 years of professional experience in growth equity, venture capital, private equity, or early-stage startup investments. A background in strategy consulting or investment banking with relevant exposure to growth-stage businesses is also valuable.
  • Education: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA) or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA) are a plus.
  • Language Skills: Native or fluent proficiency in German and strong command of English (both written and spoken).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial modeling, valuation methodologies, and presentation tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Soft Skills: Excellent analytical abilities, attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and a collaborative mindset.
  • Passion: A strong interest in technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship, with a demonstrated ability to identify market trends and opportunities.
