Responsibilities
- Assist in overseeing all administrative and academic activities of UG/PG programs offered by the Faculty of Computer Science and Informatics, including future program structures.
- Assist in managing the scheduling of didactic activities and assignment of teaching modules to professors.
- Teach approximately 200 hours per academic year of assigned modules, according to curriculum needs.
- Assist in ensuring proper administration, proctoring, and grading of student assignments and exams, adhering to regulations.
- Assist in monitoring student performance and retention rates.
- Amend, design, or develop new curricula or modules as needed.
- Update syllabi as required.
- Supervise up to 10 doctoral students annually.
- Provide mentorship and academic guidance to students and lecturers.
- Create assignment briefs and exam papers when necessary.
- Cover teaching duties in emergencies.
- Use positive reinforcement techniques to motivate and build student confidence.
- Schedule mentoring sessions with professors.
- Monitor faculty performance, including freelancers, and prepare evaluation reports.
- Assist in assessing faculty KPIs.
- Propose new faculty members and conduct interviews.
- Organize the academic environment to enhance productivity and learning.
- Coordinate training sessions to improve tutoring practices.
- Communicate effectively with faculty and students to foster a passion for learning.
- Maintain confidentiality of student assessment records.
- Guide professors in preparing lesson plans aligned with program goals.
- Design engaging teaching materials to enhance student experience.
- Develop content, both written and recorded, as directed by senior management.
- Research or recommend educational resources and software.
- Implement intervention strategies and personalized education plans for students.
- Handle day-to-day administrative tasks related to duties.
- Provide feedback to students on their progress as needed.
- Promote the School and Faculty actively.
- Contribute to research activities of the School.
- Participate in school activities, including extracurricular events.
- Work closely under the supervision of senior academic leaders.
Professional Competencies
- PhD or PhD candidate in computational science.
- Postdoctoral research in IT, computer science, or informatics (desirable).
- Knowledge of data analytics, machine learning, and AI using Python and R.
- Experience with visualization tools like Tableau.
- Experience with Big Data, Hadoop, and database management systems like MySQL.
- Experience with programming in C and C++.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM, robotics, and simulation software.
- At least 5 years of university-level teaching experience.
- At least 3 years in a senior academic position or similar role.
- Experience working in the international business sector outside Germany for at least 3 years.
- Proficiency in Windows OS, MS Office, and MS Teams.
- Significant scientific publications, citations, and authorship of at least three books.
- Fluent in English (C2 level) and knowledge of at least two other foreign languages.
- Knowledge of educational platforms like Canvas or Blackboard.
- Understanding of study regulations and rules.
