Senior Manager, Commercial Consulting
We are hiring for a Senior Manager, Commercial Consulting to lead and manage multiple small-to-mid-sized projects and workstreams for one or more larger projects while supervising junior team members.
You are expected to contribute to the overall success of a project by providing thought leadership to project teams, reviewing and finalizing primary and secondary research materials and guiding junior team members in their creation, and supervising the creation of final deliverables.
About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments.
- 10+ years of experience in client-facing management consulting with experience in consulting or related market research advisory services with an emphasis on the life sciences.
- Master’s degree in a life science, engineering, or business-related field preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of at least 2 to 3 high-interest therapy areas such as rare diseases, oncology, neurology, diabetes, auto-immune disease, and metabolism.
It would be great if you also have:
- MPH/MBA/PhD from a top-tier US or European university.
- Advanced project and team management experience with various sized project teams including internal team management, client-facing responsibilities, and reporting to key business stakeholders.
What will you be doing in this role?
- Lead and mentor a team of consultants and first-line managers, providing guidance on their daily activities and supporting their professional development to enhance team performance and expertise.
- Oversee large and complex customer engagements, directing multi-disciplinary teams and managing multiple projects and workstreams to ensure high-quality deliverables and customer satisfaction.
- Manage concurrent customer engagements, ensuring excellence in project execution, adherence to timelines, and fulfillment of customer expectations.
- Drive business development initiatives by leading proposal writing, customer presentations, and strategic networking activities to expand the firm’s customer base and market presence.
- Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic planning and resource allocation, aligning team efforts with the broader goals of the commercial consulting practice.
- Develop and oversee the practice area’s analytics methodologies and best practices, ensuring they are innovative and tailored to meet complex commercial needs.
- Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities, contributing to strategic growth initiatives and exploring avenues for upselling and cross-selling consulting services.
- Manage and negotiate major customer contracts and engagements, ensuring terms align with customer requirements and organizational goals.
- Contribute to shaping the practice area’s overall strategy and direction, influencing key decisions to drive success and growth.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, providing strategic guidance on R&D decisions and delivering insights that drive value and innovation.
- Develop and cultivate strong customer relationships, fostering trust and long-term partnerships.
- Mentor and coach managers and consultants, promoting a culture of professional growth, excellence, and knowledge sharing.
- Work with executive leadership to set strategic goals and priorities for the consulting practice, ensuring alignment with long-term objectives.
- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities, enhancing the firm’s reputation and building industry connections.

Hours of Work:
This is a full-time permanent position based remotely in Germany. This position requires weekday (Monday - Friday) attendance with some scheduling flexibility available around core working hours.
