Head of Investments - Clean Energy & Infrastructure

We are currently working with a mission-driven organisation in the clean energy sector who is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Investments to lead its investment strategy and execution. This role is central to identifying, underwriting, and closing high-impact investment opportunities, while also overseeing the financial performance of the portfolio post-investment.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping capital allocation across renewable energy, sustainable infrastructure, and commercial & industrial solar projects. The ideal candidate brings a strong analytical mindset, deep financial structuring expertise, and a hands-on, entrepreneurial approach to investment management.

This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned investment professional with a background in private equity, infrastructure, or real estate to contribute to the global energy transition.

Key Responsibilities

• Originate and lead the full investment lifecycle-from sourcing and due diligence, to execution and closing directly or through your team.
• Lead deals through internal and external approval processes, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
• Oversee and validate detailed financial models for equity and debt investments, ensuring accuracy and clarity for executive-level decision-making.
• Guide the preparation of high-quality investment memos, teasers, and presentations for internal and external investment committees.
• Lead discussions with financial institutions, navigating debt structuring and compliance with confidence.
• Collaborate with legal, technical, and commercial teams on key agreements, including EPC, O&M, and shareholder contracts.
• Drive strategic and financial performance across the investment portfolio, supporting your team in delivering results.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure robust asset management and transparent investor communications.
• Build and maintain relationships with co-investors, banks, legal advisors, and other key stakeholders.

Your Profile

• 7+ years in an investment roles, ideally within infrastructure, real estate, or renewable energy.
• A degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
• Experience in distributed energy or C&I solar is a plus.
• Strong background in investment structuring, negotiation, and execution.
• Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
• Advanced financial modelling and valuation expertise.
• Ability to manage complex, high-value transactions with precision.
• Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
• Entrepreneurial, proactive, and adaptable in fast-paced environments.
• Fluency in German and English is required.
