Job Description

We are currently looking for Superintendents to manage projects in various locations throughout Vermont. The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing day-to-day field operations on assigned projects, including both new construction and renovation of existing buildings.

• Understand the project scope, owner expectations, material & equipment budgets, and milestones.
• Ensure compliance with VOSHA/OSHA requirements and Bread Loaf Safety Programs.
• Ensure all inspections and tests are performed as required by code, project documents, and company standards.
• Create project schedules to meet key dates outlined by the Project Manager.
• Document all activities through daily reports and maintain an As-Built set of drawings for project completion.
• Forecast labor and material needs; coordinate with the Shop Supervisor for tools and supplies.
• Conduct weekly subcontractor meetings and participate in owner meetings.
• Provide on-the-job training to improve trade skills for field employees.

*This position may require frequent travel and overnight stays.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications:

• Alignment with Bread Loaf values.
• A four-year engineering degree in construction or a related field, or equivalent technical training and experience.
• Strong understanding of construction best practices for project planning, resource management, quality, safety, schedule, and budget.
• Working knowledge of civil, structural, architectural, and MEP building systems, with demonstrated ability to supervise subcontractors and self-performed work, and delegate effectively on large projects.
• Minimum of eight years of supervisory experience in commercial, institutional, or manufacturing facility construction projects ranging from $5M to $30M.
