Job Description:

A Japanese manufacturer is currently recruiting an Accounting & Finance Director to work in their office in Amsterdam.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing tax compliance, corporate strategy, internal controls, audits, stakeholder communications, team management, and financial regulation compliance.

The ideal candidate should have 5+ years’ experience in a similar role, and work experience in international companies is a plus.

TYPE: Full-time, initially 1-year contract (with potential for extension)

WORKING HOURS: 9:00-17:00, Monday to Friday

SALARY: €150k gross + bonus and benefits (including a company car)

LOCATION: Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Accounting & Finance Director Main Responsibilities:

• Lead corporate strategy, budgeting, and forecasting
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and laws
• Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize liabilities
• Manage international tax matters
• Drive business planning with financial insights
• Oversee internal controls to mitigate risks and improve efficiency
• Liaise with Big Four audit firms for annual audits
• Communicate with stakeholders to resolve financial issues
• Mentor and manage the accounting and finance team
• Provide training and set performance goals
• Monitor and ensure compliance with financial regulations
• Develop policies to mitigate risks and ensure compliance

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience leading an administrative department
• Tax compliance, tax strategy, and international taxes experience
• Corporate strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and business planning skills
• Experience with internal controls (USSOX or JSOX is a plus)
• Hands-on experience with ERP software (Microsoft D365 preferred)
• Work experience in international companies is a plus
• Leadership, mentorship, and team management skills
• CPA or equivalent financial & accounting knowledge
• Excellent communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI
