The Fraunhofer Institute for Surface Engineering and Thin Films IST in Braunschweig offers motivated students the opportunity to work on a student thesis/research project on the topic »Modeling of electrochemical and mechanical stress for All-Solid-State Batteries« in the Process and Production Engineering for Sustainable Energy Storage Systems department from 01.06.2024.

Responsibilities
  • Developing an electrochemically coupled mechanical model to simulate stress generation in All-Solid-State Batteries
  • Preparation and interpretation of simulation results
Qualifications
  • Studying mechanical engineering, computer science, materials science, or a comparable subject
  • Motivation to explore scientific challenges
  • Previous experience with Comsol Multiphysics
  • Preferable knowledge in All-Solid-State Battery systems
  • Independent, disciplined, and conscientious work style
