Automotive Engineering Lab (AEL) teams are rapidly growing and focused on advanced automotive technologies across multiple domains.

(m/f/d) We are seeking a skilled and experienced candidate in the UX/UI team for an intelligent cockpit system, advancing HMI aesthetics, emotional design, and usability functionalities.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of visualization and experience in both GUI and physical product appearance design. Your role in the UX/UI team requires collaboration with UX/interaction designers to develop innovative interactions with outstanding visual impressions. You will work on future trends of vehicle HMI design, AI UX, and product innovations in Vehicle Intelligent Cockpit.

Your mission

1. Discover and define design opportunities in AI-enabled in-car HMI systems, balancing aesthetics, usability, emotional design, and brand identity.
2. Incubate visual directions for AI-GUI areas, physical touchpoints, and evolve in-car HMI visual language.
3. Deliver high-quality design concepts individually or leading a small team, including UI component visualizations, physical product appearance designs, 2D & 3D motion graphics, storytelling demos/videos, and presentation documents.
4. Collaborate with the UX organization and product R&D teams in HQ.
5. Mentor junior designers as a senior team member.

Your areas of expertise/experience

1. Master’s or higher degree in UX/UI design, multimedia design, industrial design, or related disciplines.
2. 6+ years of experience in Automotive GUI design.
3. Project experience in robot appearance design, CGI, digital arts, or industrial design is advantageous.
4. Proven high-quality visualization design portfolio on real products or pre-development programs.
5. Proficiency in 2D and 3D design tools such as Figma, Adobe AE, PS, Rhino, Keyshot, Blender/Cinema 4D, and PowerPoint.
6. Experience with generative AI tools for design creation is a plus.
7. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
8. Enthusiasm for international teamwork and fluent English communication skills.
9. Willingness to travel to China (about 20%).
