About the role:

We're looking for a passionate Site Reliability Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team. Our team is dedicated to two primary goals:

• Creating and maintaining a robust, coherent infrastructure as code.
• Empowering other teams to deliver sustainable software by providing self-service infrastructure and streamlined tools for building, deploying, and monitoring business applications.

We're also committed to establishing SRE practices across Billie, including defining and measuring Service Level Objectives (SLOs). Our approach emphasizes automation and continuous improvement to drive efficiency and reliability.

As our new Engineer, you will:

• Manage and enhance our infrastructure using Ansible, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
• Identify repetitive tasks and create efficient automation solutions.
• Collaborate closely with various engineering teams to support their infrastructure needs.
• Refine our deployment process, aiming for consistency and reliability.
• Architect, develop and maintain core infrastructure components to support Billie's growth.
• Troubleshoot production issues across different services and stack levels.
• Contribute to planning Billie's infrastructure expansion.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to address availability incidents and support service engineers with customer-facing issues.

We're looking for someone who:

• Has 3+ years of experience as an SRE, DevOps Engineer, or Platform Engineer.
• Possesses extensive experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) products and services.
• Is skilled in infrastructure automation with Terraform.
• Has expertise with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or ArgoCD.
• Is experienced with Docker, Kubernetes, and related container technologies.
• Understand observability concepts and tools (e.g., New Relic and Grafana stack).
• Has hands-on experience in at least one scripting language, Java, Python, and/or Golang.
• Enjoys working with Open Source tools and values automation and reproducibility.
• Has a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
