About the role
Cognito is seeking a highly motivated and passionate Senior Digital Marketing Consultant to join our Düsseldorf team. The ideal candidate will have both a strategic and hands-on approach, be able to work quickly and methodically, and have in-depth knowledge of all digital and social media channels and how to utilize them successfully in a B2B environment.
This role will be responsible for building out the local proposition for digital marketing and will be vital to helping Cognito deliver quality service to its clients, whilst also supporting our growth plans in the German market.
If you are self-motivated, people centric, culturally intuitive and commercially aware, then this is the role for you. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned digital marketing specialist looking to step up to drive deeper impact on your accounts with more autonomy.
Client Management:
- Serve as the main point of contact for key client accounts, understanding their business objectives and developing digital marketing strategies to support those goals.
- Provide regular performance reports and analysis to clients, demonstrating the impact of agency efforts on their business objective.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and delivering measurable results.
Strategic Planning:
- Work collaboratively with clients and internal teams to develop comprehensive PR strategies that align with business objectives.
- Provide strategic counsel to clients on the best digital media approach to reach their goals.
Digital marketing knowledge:
- Extensive knowledge of all relevant digital media channels and how to utilise them in the B2B space.
- Experience planning, executing and measuring campaigns on social media channels, web, paid media, programmatic, and SEO, email, etc..
- Immediate interest in how the digital space is developing and what tools, channels etc. are becoming relevant.
- Understanding of martech tools to plan, implement and measure campaigns.
New Business and marketing:
- Successfully initiate, drive, develop and close new business opportunities, based on both existing personal networks plus exploitation of Cognito networks and marketing.
- Prepare and present pitches working with colleagues across the Cognito group.
- Actively look for additional business opportunities with existing clients.
- Foster a culture of networking and sales.
- Contribute to development of a marketing plan that delivers a pipeline of leads beyond their own networking.
- Utilize their own network of business introducers and contacts, leading by example and encouraging everyone in the team to contribute to different stages of the sales process.
- Lead and mentor a team of digital marketing professionals, providing guidance on strategy, execution, and professional development.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture that encourages creativity and excellence.
Financial planning and budgeting:
- Prepare estimates, draft proposals and obtain client agreements.
- Manage project budgets, ensuring that financial goals are met and resources are allocated efficiently.
- Collaborate with the finance team to track project expenses, revenue, chargeability and profitability.
- Provide regular financial reports to clients, demonstrating the value and impact of marketingcampaigns.
Knowledge/Skill requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience, with 2 years operating at Director level in digital marketing roles, ideally within the B2B space in Germany.
- A proven track record of successful campaign management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German (native) and English.
- Excellent attention to detail, and organisation skills.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and client management.
- Leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and mentor a team.
- A team player with the ability to demonstrate enthusiasm, motivation and commitment with initiative and a persuasive manner.
- Ability to work under pressure and think strategically and execute quality output under tight deadlines.
- Sound judgement and ability to make decisions in uncertain situations.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively when addressed with complex issues.
- Ability to manage and delegate work with a proven track record in managing several accounts at the same time.
- Ideally the candidate brings experience of working in the financial services and/or financial technology industries or B2B tech or professional services.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with campaign reporting and optimisation working with different marketing analytics tools.
