To start as soon as possible, this is a permanent part-time role, offering up to 19 hours per week.

About the role

You will play a vital role in overseeing the commodity accounting closing process for trading desks, focusing on profit and loss analysis.

1. Facilitate the commodity accounting closing process, ensuring smooth month, quarter, and year-end procedures, and drive process improvements.
2. Reconcile performance reporting to IFRS and local standards, maintaining accuracy and compliance.
3. Post unrealised derivatives and accruals for realised transactions.
4. Collaborate with the Data team to improve data transparency and support automation.
5. Analyze accounting data to identify issues, providing transparency to management.
6. Support accounting-related projects.

Job requirements and experience

• Qualified accountant (ACA / ACMA / ACCA / CIMA) with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with complex data experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Access.
• Deep knowledge of IFRS and/or HGB standards.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Pro-active and team-oriented attitude.

Advantages (not essential)

• Experience with SAP or S/4HANA.
• SQL knowledge.
• Audit background.
• Experience in commodity trading, risk management, valuation, or controlling.
