About the Job: Located within Keysight Laboratories in Bochum, this role focuses on developing advanced application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) that enhance performance and differentiate our electronic test and measurement products. Responsibilities

As an Experienced Mixed-Signal Designer, you will:

• Join the Mixed-Signal ASIC Design team as a senior or co-lead designer.
• Develop custom ASIC data converter solutions for GHz applications.
• Implement core ADC and DAC structures and design streaming I/O data paths.
• Contribute to the measurement and emulation of communication transceiver ASICs.
• Work with CMOS and BiCMOS technologies to innovate high-performance mixed-signal ASICs.

Your work will help give Keysight’s products a competitive edge in performance and cost, enabling the generation and characterization of cutting-edge high-speed signals like RF communication and serial link waveforms. You will apply your extensive IC design expertise to develop some of the world's fastest and most accurate measurement ICs.

Qualifications

Required:

• PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field with thesis on mixed-signal IC design (preferred) or MS with substantial experience.
• Several years of experience designing high-speed (>5 GSa/s, 8+ bits) ADCs in advanced CMOS technologies (28nm or smaller).
• Experience in ADC testing, debugging, and performance documentation.
• Proficiency in designing high-speed analog and mixed-signal circuits at schematic and layout levels.
• Experience with mixed-signal building blocks such as PLLs, DACs, serializers, or wideband amplifiers.
• Strong teamwork, leadership, documentation, and communication skills.
• Self-motivation and problem-solving abilities to meet development schedules and manufacturing standards.

Desired:

• Mentoring experience for junior engineers.
• Experience applying Signal Processing techniques to improve converter performance.
• Knowledge of high-speed DACs and SERDES circuits (>28 Gbps).
• Background in device modeling, thermal design, and IC packaging.
• Understanding of signal integrity and electromagnetic issues.
• Experience with analog-digital mixed-mode simulation and scripting languages.
